NEW MIDLOTHIAN SOUTH WARD The Council elections on 3rd May saw the introduction of a new system of voting and new Council wards introduced. The ward is around 3 times the size of the old Gorebridge South ward and it now has 3 Councillors The area covered stretches from Middleton to Newtongrange and includes all parts of Gorebridge and Arniston as well as the Temple and Carrington areas. The Labour party will be put forward 2 candidates for the Midlothian South Ward and both were successfully elected with more than 50% of the first preference votes between them.
