Midlothian Council

Midlothian is situated to the south of Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh. Midlothian Council serves a population of almost 82,000 and covers a geographical area of  35,527 hectares.

The main towns are Penicuik, Bonnyrigg, Dalkeith, Mayfield and Easthouses, Loanhead and Gorebridge. Midlothian Council is the largest employer in the area with over 4,000 employees.

 

Best known for its mining heritage, Midlothian is also a stunning place to visit.

Because of its proximity to Edinburgh and its excellent links with Central Scotland's network of motorways and trunk roads, Midlothian is an ideal business location and has emerged  as a World centre for the developing Biotechnology industry.
