Welcome to the website of Richard Baker, List Member of  the Scottish Parliament for North East Scotland.

Introduction from Richard Baker
Welcome to my website.  I hope you will find the information on my local campaigning and my work in the Parliament useful.  You can also contact me through this website, and I hope you will let me know of any issues you feel are important for me to raise in parliament.

I was elected in May 2003 as an MSP for the North East region.  The region includes Aberdeen and Dundee, as well as the rural constituencies of Banff and Buchan, Gordon, West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine, and Angus.  This means I campaign on issues affecting both urban and rural areas.

I am also a member of two of the Scottish parliament's Committees, the Enterprise and Culture Committee and the Procedures Committee.  The Enterprise and Culture Committee is responsible for examining every area of the Scottish economy and what can be done to promote economic and cultural prosperity in Scotland.  This includes important issues for this region, including higher education, tourism and the energy industry.

This website tells you about my work locally and in parliament, as well as useful links and details of how you can contact me.  I hope you will find the information on this site useful, and if you want to find out more about my work in parliament, don't hesitate to contact me.
