FAULDHOUSE V ARNISTON

In a hard fought game with Fauldhouse edging the first and Arnie the second a draw was probably a fair result altho a decision by the ref.seemed totally wrong giving a free against Arniston No.10 Kataleza who had beat 2 defenders in the 18 yards box only to be brought down by the home keeper when about to net.

Fauldhouse settled first and played good man to man stuff but the visitors defence stood firm.

Bartos in the Arniston goal had to look lively with a shot from a free.

He also had to punch clear from a couple of dangerous crosses.

A good move by Arnie saw a turn and a shot from No 10. go just past.

Fauldhouse came close again from a foul kick

Arniston attacked and a shot came off the post only to be scrambled clear.

The first half seemed to be finishing no score when a good move and man to man passing gave the home winger a clear shot in to the net.

Time 44 minutes.

1 goal to 0 for the home side at half time

The second half started as the first with the game going from end to end with first Bartoz having to use his feet to clear and a minute later two efforts were blocked at the other end

Fauldhouse won a few corners but could make nothing of them.

Arniston equalised in the 60th minute when a concerted attack was not cleared and livewire No. 10 Kataleza slammed the ball home from close in.

A faulty pass back to the home keeper nearly went wrong when his attempted clearance was blocked and went narrowly past.

The referee’s decision against the Arnie forward as mentioned earlier came in the 80th minute.

The last 10 minutes saw both teams going for the winner and the visiting keeper again saving smartly. At the other end Laurie Jones missed a golden chance to get the winner .shooting wide from 6 yards.

Tempers were getting a bit frayed by this time but the ref. kept control.

FINAL SCORE

A much better performance this week by the boys and showing plenty of spirit.

SAME AGAIN NEXT WEEK LADS

After the final whistle the HOLBURN TROPHY was settled with a penalty kick shoot out Arniston winning by 4 goals to 2
