Arniston visited Armadale with the need to secure the three points to secure Premier League survival without the need of relying on other results going our way.
Scott Nesbit was available and took the place of the injured Ubong.
The game got off to a sensational start when Arniston won a corner in the first minute and from a perfect cross to the back post Darren McGregor powered a header into the net.
ONE UP AFTER ONE MINUTE.
Arniston continued to attack with the midfield dominating and up front Ryan and Nizzie combining well. Mark Ellis was also putting some telling work in.
Armadale had elected to kick downhill with the wind but were getting no advantage. The only danger came when Stewart in goal fumbled a high ball but recovered to push the ball for a corner.
In one of the home teams infrequent attacks a timely block prevented what would have been an undeserved equaliser. However as the saying goes, one goal is not enough.
HALF TIME ARMADALE NIL ARNISTON ONE
The second half started as before with Arniston dominating and scorning a few chances. The home No. 5 was in the wars and after a collision with a team mate had to go off with a head knock but soon recovered. The home team introduced two subs and one to be replaced was far from happy, throwing his strip to the ground and stomping off for his early shower. Stevie Noble had a good try which just went past. The home number 4 was given a straight red by the referee the reason was not clear it may have been comments made. About the 60th minute Arniston brought on Kyle and Graham for Darren and Colin. Kyle made an immediate impact with some good crosses .It was felt a goal had got to come and when it did it was a beauty. A pass to Nizzie on the 18 yard line with his back to goal. He fed it back to Ryan who simply blasted it first time into the top corner of the net.
The game as a contest was over by then but not the action.
The home number 10 fouled Arnies number 10 Stevie Noble who stupidly retaliated leaving the ref no option but sending both off. This marred a game that was always hard but sporting. Time was played out with Arniston keeping possession against 9 men Armadale.
