Welcome to this weeks issue of not the PINK NEWS.
Since
not the PINK NEWS  was launched a few years ago, it has gone from strength to strength, thanks to the commitment of Junior football fans from all over.  We have had almost 200,000 hits on the Pink Pages and the hit rate is growing each week.  We have introduced pictures to the page so that reports can now be accompanied by a picture of that day's action. We are still looking for fans from a number of clubs to add a small report each weekend of their teams match.  It does not have to be perfect and can be as biased as you like (we are all human).  If you want to volunteer, just EMAIL US  and we will set you up with a username and password and you can upload your reports right away.
Latest Comments from ARFC Feedback Page In this weeks Issue......
Excellent performance on Saturday with all the players playing their part in what turned out to be a comfortable victory with a so called under strength side. Special mentions for Rossco, Dougie , and Dunny who I think had their best games of this season. Heres hoping Robbie has a speedy recovery and is back playing soon.

Sorry pal but I am the possessor of Higher National Communications that is level 7 H.N.C and that was achieved at 61 years old and I am now 66 years old, I also have another 22 Higher National credits in computing to my name and could easily gain entry into University, I only need to pass the Web Development class to go straight into 2nd year of a Web Dev, degree but I don,t fancy 2nd year at 66 because it is full of reports, it's for management and I'm an O.A.P. So don't you try and educate me. tell me if you are an English teacher or do you have a degree. I back the players to the hilt, but one game doesn't make them world beaters, pay attention to the stats on the league table the maximum ones and you will see it is really becoming a 4 horse race in my opinion but if we lose against Kinnoull we will then make things very difficult for ourselvesbut not impossible. I apologised to Dunny on Saturday and shook hands with him so I will now offer another apology on the web site for all to witness who come on the web site. Dram could you please erase the 3 comments I made on March 12th from the web site as I would rather that was done. I would rather be a plonker with a brain than a mutton heid without a brain. once again SORRY ANDY. I will be unable to get on the computer tomorrow as I will be away all day and from midday till 10.30pm Wednesday so I will make remarks on our splendid performance after that

Match Report from - BLACKBURN UNITED

Barrie Hunter saves Jeffrey's first penalty attempt

13/3/10 East Region South Division
Broxburn Athletic 2 Blackburn United 1

With Broxburn's own Albyn Park in the middle of substantial redevelopment work this clash between the league's second and third placed teams went ahead at Livingston United's Station Park and saw Athletic open in positive fashion as Millar hit a free-kick against the United wall before Martindale whipped in a cross from the left that Craig nodded just over the top with barely five minutes gone. Craig then got his head on another cross, this time from the right and from the boot of Bishop, to produce an effort that forced Barrie Hunter to claw the ball away from under his bar as it dipped goalwards. However, against the run of play it was Blackburn who manufactured and took the chance that brought the games opening goal when Alan Brown delivered a teasing ball into the middle of the box that Paddy Donnelly almost profited from before it arrived at the feet of Nicky MILLAR who adroitly turned his marker and slammed his shot into the bottom right hand corner beyond the diving Maley. Broxburn, though, were level in highly controversial circumstances a short few minutes later when Martindale slung in a cross that Craig went for only to find himself pushed to the ground under the challenge of Alan Keir. The resultant penalty awarded by referee Mr. Spalding drew vociferous protests from both the United bench and visiting support but none of these outbursts were to match those that followed when Hunter threw himself to his right to save Jeffrey's effort from the spot only for Mr. Spalding to order a retake for a supposed offence that no one in the ground could honestly identify. From that retake JEFFREY chose to go the other way and was a relieved man to see the ball only just sneak over the line after Hunter again guessed correctly to get both hands on it. With Athletic tails now up and United concentration cracked the home side completed their first half turnaround when a fine Millar pass found Craig advancing on the left and his curling right footer smacked off the face of Hunter's left hand post and fell perfectly for the inrushing JEFFREY to sweep home. Jordan Rintoul tried to bring Blackburn back into it before the break but his run and shot from the right angle was cleared by Cairns before Davie Sneddon set up Nicky Millar to ping in a near post ball that Andy McQuillan poked goalward only for the sliding Ritchie to block.

Broxburn retained the initiative their first half come back had earned and began the second period back in possession with Martindale unlucky to see his strike from the left corner of the box deflected wide after taking a decent touch on Martin's pass. Moments later Hunter had to be quick to hold Craig's snap shot at the second attempt. Midway through a half that had long since become bogged down in a bit of a battle for midfield supremacy, Mr. Spalding again provoked the ire of the visiting bench in turning down loud appeals for a spot kick when Paddy Donnelly was sent sprawling inside the box after Cairns had seemed to push both hands into his back to ease him aside as the ball arrived in the box. What passed for a penalty in the first half appeared not to be such in the second. A pretty much unmissible, two handed hand ball offence right on the very edge of the Athletic area not long after was then indeed missed as the referees day careered from bad to worse. Heading towards the last quarter of an hour Hannah's ambitious twenty five yard free-kick skied way too high over Hunter's bar before, at the other end, Gibson was on hand to scramble Paddy Donnelly's header from a Keir flag kick narrowly past for the second of three United corners that ultimately came to naught. Broxburn too came close when Bishop overlapped Jeffrey on the left to cut the ball back for Martin to take a pop at goal which substitute Ryan Donnelly managed to deflect harmlessly wide. It was, however, Blackburn who ended the game on the attack with perhaps the best chance to equalise falling to centre-half Ricky Miller who, despite probably having a little more time than he no doubt thought, took an instinctive swing at an Alan Fleming corner plumb in the middle of the box and then watched as the ball comfortably cleared the crossbar with yards to spare. From best chance then came last chance when Brown picked out Nicky Millar on the United left but Maley was able to smother his square ball across the six yard box under pressure from Drew Wingate to ensure that his side would draw level on points with their visitors in pursuit of Tranent at the top of the table.

Blackburn United Line-Up: Hunter, Sneddon, Keir (Fleming 79), Trialist - Murray, R.Miller, Crooks (Wingate 64), Rintoul, Brown, Trialist - N.Millar, McQuillan (R.Donnelly 69), P.Donnelly Subs (not used): Stewart, Gillespie

Match Report from - TAYPORT

Lee Bryce turns to celebrate Tayport’s opener at Thomson Park

13/03/10 Emirates Scottish Junior Cup RD 6. Lochee Utd 1 v 1 Tayport

Tayport played purposefully throughout this tie and their plan pre match would have seen them through but for a moment of madness from young full back David Black who saw “red” after allegedly retaliating to a horrendous challenge from Lochee’s Craig Robertson.
Tayport stood up to the Thomson Park outfit’s early onslaught with Frazer Fitzpatrick called on several times to keep the game scoreless. ‘Port stuck to the game plan and slowly took control with skipper Morris and Barry Donachie both outstanding in the middle of the park, Tayport broke up play and fed the able Mark Whatley and Stefan Elvin who supplied the front men with some good service. This was rewarded in half an hour when Lee Bryce chased a hopeless cause and got to the by line where he skipped past a couple of defenders before sending the ball past the keeper into the far corner of the net via a bluebell boot to give Tayport a deserved lead.
Just after the goal, right-back David Black was red-carded, on the advice of the assistant referee, after a very late challenge by Robertson, who was only cautioned as seems always the case for the perpetrator.
Tayport continued to defend their lead well in the second half and had a couple of chances with Lee Bryce’s pace always a threat. The ten men were beginning to be worn down and there was no surprise when after 65 minutes Gary Middleton scored at the third attempt when ‘Port failed to clear after a corner.
The numerically disadvantage was now taking its toll but to their credit Tayport continued to defend resolutely while they still remained something of a threat to the hosts. Substitute Barry McNaughton went close after pouncing on a poor clearance by home ‘keeper Iain Ross. Fellow sub Ronnie Kenneth also put Ross under pressure in the closing stages, but the keeper was able to retrieve the situation.
In the dying minutes, Lochee had John Thompson dismissed, for his second book able offence.
So it’s back to the Canniepairt for the replay next Saturday to do it all again. See you there.

Tayport :
Frazer Fitzpatrick, David Black, Derek Wemyss, Scott Hunter, Mick O’Donnell,
Mark Whatley, Roberto Morris, Barry Donachie (Barry McNaughton), Stefan Elvin,
Darren Scott, Lee Bryce (Ronnie Kenneth).
Subs Not Used : Martin O’Doherty, Grant Manzie, Joe Pepper.
