Arniston made it off the bottom of the table with a home win over Penicuik Athletic despite Penicuik taking the lead in the first half.

After the break Penicuik came out all guns blazing and put the home side under a lot of pressure. However a strong header from Forster drew the clubs level and a few minutes later Arniston were awarded a penalty for a hand ball inside the box. Coult took it well to put the home side ahead.

Late on in the game Bothrone broke clear of the defence and slotted the ball past the sprawling keeper to put the match beyond doubt.

Muckersie hammers home a penalty and Broxburn goalie can't find the ball!

It was Broxburn who started fast and immediately took control on their new artificial surface in a strong west wind; Saints weren't allowed to settle when they had the ball and lots of passes went astrayed and their defence had a tough time with Burn's lively forwards causing them all sorts of problems; the surface looked good but Saints looked ill at ease in playing their passing game and it began to look easier to play the long ball as anything over the top of either defence seemed to sit up nicely especially for Broxburn who were playing into the wind.

After several near things in front of Saints goal Broxburn got just reward when an attempt wasn't cleared properly and the ball somehow got to the back post and GEDDES had only to side foot into the net. Saints possession in the Burn half was limited and when they made it poor control let them down ;  the only shot from Saints during the first half by McGuigan went past.

Most of the time it was Broxburn who continued to get into the area but Saints survived till half time just one goal down; Saints again tried to play it on the deck at the start of the second half but repeatedly Broxburn intercepted poor passes,  broke away and it looked just a matter of time before they made good one of the many opportunities to score; Aitchison pulled off several excellent saves during this time but he had no chance in 64 mins when MILLAR hit a cracker from 30 yards into the top corner; 5 mins later they went 3 up despite a great block from Aitchison at the edge of the area only for it to fall at the feet of MARTIN who lobbed it over Aitchison as he raced back to his goal-line.

It looked at that time as if Saints could lose more goals but somehow they began to get their game together as Broxburn's fast pace at the start  took it's toll; they began to get a bit of time to make their passes and McGuigan especially made the home defence struggle to contain him;  and they got a chance in 77 mins when Broxburn were in a lot of trouble; a low cross got to McGuigan at the back post but he couldn't control and it went high over the bar from only yards out; 2 mins later Saints got a much needed goal when McGuigan broke up the left, only to be brought down in the area and the ref had no hesitation in awarding the penalty; MUCKERSIE took it well  and slammed it into the back of the net.

Broxburn were now reduced to 10 men as the offender in the McGuigan tackle was sent off; it was surprising the turnaround in play; substitute Patrick had a chance in 85 mins but was unable to convert; with Saints most of the time dominating now in 88 mins they got a second when a great through ball from  Patrick to DIGNAN was despatched past the outrushing home keeper;  unfortunately the change in fortunes for St Andrews arrived a little too late as they continued to the end to get a point from the game but time ran out on them.

Robbie Henderson smashes home Tayport’swinner at Kelty

Two goals in the second half from Ronnie Kenneth and Robbie Henderson secured all three Super League points against Kelty. 'Port had been unfortunate in a goalless first half, as home 'keeper Alan Fleming made a couple of outstanding stops towards half-time. A one-handed save stopped a cracking Robbie Henderson strike, then, a few minutes later, the same player was denied from close-range, when a goal had seemed certain. Previously, Stevie McManus hit a shot over the top, after Ronnie Kenneth had knocked down a Mark Whatley cross, while, at the other end, striker Lawrie went close on a few occasions, but did not hit the target. Neal Ferrie did have to make one crucial stop, after Craig Morrison escaped to go through one-on-one. He could find no way past the Tayport custodian, though. Two minutes into the second half, a poor clearance from Fleming created an opening for Tayport, with Ronnie Kenneth getting in behind the defence and sending his low, left-footed effort beyond the 'keeper, into the far corner of the net. Lawrie then missed a good chance to equalise, at the far post, while Barry Donachie had to throw his body in the way of another Kelty attempt. 'Port continued to defend in resolute fashion, as the hosts began to apply late pressure. In injury-time, skipper Roberto Morris was forced off, with cramp, but when the game re-started with a wide free kick, Tayport secured the win. Ronnie Kenneth won his aerial challenge at the far post and substitute Ross Lunan's first touch found Robbie Henderson, who rattled the ball home, from a tight angle.
