Season 1975-1976

Arniston started very well, winning four games in a row, starting with 3 - 0 win over Dalkeith Thistle in the league cup at Arniston, 4 - 3 win over Whitburn Juniors at Whitburn in the league, 2 - 1 win over Dalkeith Thistle in the league cup at Dalkeith, 1 - 0 win over Linlithgow Rose in the league at Arniston. Season progressed with a 2 - 0 defeat by Bathgate Thistle in the Dryborough Cup at Bathgate. This was only a temporary setback, as Arniston were playing well as ever, and proceeded to beat St. Andrews 3 - 2 in the Fife & Lothians Cup at St. Andrews, beat Broxburn Athletic 1 - 0 in the quarter final of the Whitbread League Cup at Broxburn, beat Bo'ness United 2 - 1 in the league at Arniston, Arniston scorers Robertson, Crease, beat Musselburgh Athletic 2 - 1 in the Brown Cup at Musselburgh.

End of November, Arniston took their exit from the Scottish Junior Cup, losing 2 - 1 to Whitburn Juniors at Arniston, Arniston scorer, Kingston (O.G.). January 1976, Arniston form continued in a winning vein, beating Fauldhouse United 2 - 1 in the league, beat Newtongrange Star 4 - 1 at Arniston in the league, beat Bonnyrigg Rose 1 - 0 in the Brown Cup, 2nd round, Arniston scorer McKelvey, beat Musselburgh Athletic 4 - 1 in the Fife & Lothians Cup at Arniston, Arniston scorers, Crease 2, Hume, McKelvey. Middle of February saw the final of the East Region League between Bonnyrigg Rose and Arniston Rangers. The game resulted in a 4 goals to 1 win for Bonnyrigg Rose, who emphasised their superiority in the second half after Crease had opened the scoring for Arniston. The end of February saw Arniston returning to form, beating their close rivals, Dalkeith Thistle 2 - 0 at Dalkeith, Arniston scorers, Robertson, Wade (Pen.), beating Penicuik Athletic 4 - 3 in the Drybrough Cup, 3rd round replay at Penicuik. March saw Arniston beating Penicuik Athletic 2 - 1 in the league at Penicuik, Arniston scorer, Robertson 2.

April was another good month for Arniston, beating Whitburn Juniors 1 - 0 at Arniston in the league, Arniston Scorer, Robertson, beating Bo'ness United in the Fife & Lothians Cup 3 - 2, Arniston scorers, Mathieson, Crease, Wilson, Robertson missed a penalty. 29.4.76, Arniston had another win beating Dalkeith Thistle by 4 - 1 in the league at Arniston, Arniston scorers, McLeod, Crease 2, Robertson. Anderson also missed a penalty. Arniston at last were enjoying a high level of consistency and finished the season winning the Brown Cup, beating Bathgate Thistle 1 - 0 in the final at Tynecastle, Arniston scorer, Gordon Robertson (May 18, 1976).

June was another good month for Arniston beating Lochgelly Albert 4 - 1 in the semi-final of the Fife & Lothians Cup at Arniston. Arniston scorers, Robertson 3, Anderson. The following week Arniston played the final of the Fife & Lothians Cup at Bo.ness against Linlithgow Rose. Result - Arniston 4, Linlithgow 1, Arniston scorers, Robertson, Wilson ?, Crease.
