Season1960-1961

Arniston’s season again started badly losing twice to Dunbar United, first game 4 - 3 in the league at Dunbar, and the second game was played at Arniston in the Scottish Junior Cup and ended in a 3 - 2 win for Dunbar. Arniston were again on a see-saw having lost to Dunbar home and away, Arniston played them again and won. January 26, 1961 Arniston played Bonnybridge Juniors and won 8 - 1. February 16, 1961 Arniston played Tranent Juniors and won 7 - 1. March 2, 1961 Arniston were defeated 3 - 2 by Penicuik Athletic at Arniston.

Season ended with Arniston reaching three finals, St. Michael Cup, Rae Cup and the Brown Cup. Press coverage was abysmal at that time. I found after a struggle that Arniston won the St. Michael Cup beating Pumpherson in the Final, lost in the Final of the Brown Cup

2 - 1 to Fauldhouse United after a 2 - 2 draw. Final game, Arniston won the Rae Cup again beating Pumpherson Juniors in the Final, and again no actual score in.

June 8 1961 Arniston Rangers v Pumpherson Juniors Rae Cup Final Match was played at Volunteer Park, Armadale and ended in a win for Arniston, no score in July 6 1961 Arniston sign Wullie Robertson of Blairhall Colliery. He scored twenty seven goals for his club last year.
