Season1955-1956

A good start to the season with wins over Tranent Juniors 4 - 2, a resounding 9 - 4 over Haddington Athletic, 2 - 1 over Rosewell Rosedale, 7 - 1 over Musselburgh Athletic, and a 5 - 1 win over Bathgate Thistle in the League Cup, where the Arniston goal scorers included Glen 2, Hill 2, Duffy. After a good 6 - 0 win over Penicuik Athletic in the League, Arniston became unstuck against Loanhead Mayflower in the Scottish Junior Cup, losing 3 - 1 to the men from Loanhead. Arniston were beginning to 'blow hot and cold'. When they were 'hot' as they were against Newtongrange Star, winning 5 - 2 at Newtongrange they were so good, and when they were 'cold' as against Rosewell Rosedale, losing 5 - 3 in the Brown Cup, they were a very ordinary side.

Rest of the season was a mixture of good and bad for Arniston reaching the East of Scotland Cup semi-final, losing to Loanhead Mayflower, and the League Cup final, losing to Bo'ness United 5 - 2 at Olive Bank, Musselburgh.
