Season 1912-1913
Season started badly for Arniston with a 3 - 1 defeat by Loanhead Mayflower, in the league, a good 6 - 1 win followed in the East of Scotland Cup over Wallyford Thistle. Arniston's form became mediocre in the next few weeks, losing three games in a row to Penicuik Juniors, Vale of Grange in the 'Scottish' and to Tranent Juniors, 3 - 0 in the Simpson Shield, that must have been a stormy encounter, with Mitchell and Marshall of Arniston being sent off.
End of October saw Arniston recovering their form with a good 2 - 1 win in the East of Scotland Cup over Oakbank Thistle at Oakbank. A tremendous Arniston run of successes in both cup and league followed, with victories over:- Newtongrange Star, 2 - 1, Bonnyrigg Rose, 3 - 2, Niddrie Bluebell, 3 - 0, Tranent Juniors 2 - 1, a great win over Denbeath Star 5 - 0 in the East of Scotland Cup, Niddrie Bluebell, 4 - 0 Wemyss Athletic, 2 - 1; a fabulous 10 - 0 win over Loanhead Mayflower in the league takes us again to the latter end of the season.
Season finished with Arniston losing out in the semi-final of the Musseburgh Cup 2 - 0 against Musselburgh Athletic, and winning the 'Blue Riband Trophy', the East of Scotland Cup, beating Vale of Grange 1 - 0 in the final.
Arniston team that day:- Junners, Burns, Couper, Smith, Marshall, Livie, Duncan, Gibson, Mathieson, Abbot, Mitchell
Gate drawings amounted to £60.
