Season 1902-1903

A satisfactory season for Arniston, highlighted by a resounding 5 - 0 win over Newtongrange Star in the League at Newtongrange, and a 5 goals to 0 win in the Musselburgh & District Cup final over Prestonpans Athletic in a match which ended in controversy. A disturbance between two players had taken place on the field, with the score standing at 5 - 0 in Arniston's favour. The two players were ordered off and after the Prestonpans player refused to go, the local football association in charge, awarded Arniston the cup.

Arniston Rangers v Prestonpans Athletic - These teams met at Musselburgh on Saturday in the final of the Musselburgh & District Cup. The Rangers were leading by 5 goals to 1 when a disturbance arose between two players, both of whom were ordered off the field. The Prestonpans player refused to go, and after waiting for over twenty minutes the Association awarded Arniston Rangers the cup. Daniel Inrigg, the Rangers centre-forward, was carried shoulder high into Gorebridge, where the Rangers got a good welcome. A smoker was thereafter held in John Duncan's inn, where the players and officials spent a few hours pleasantly.

Besides securing 17 points in the Midlothian League the club has won the Musselburgh & District Cup.
