Welcome to this weeks issue of not the PINK NEWS.
Since
not the PINK NEWS  was launched a few years ago, it has gone from strength to strength, thanks to the commitment of Junior football fans from all over.  We have had almost 200,000 hits on the Pink Pages and the hit rate is growing each week.  We have introduced pictures to the page so that reports can now be accompanied by a picture of that day's action. We are still looking for fans from a number of clubs to add a small report each weekend of their teams match.  It does not have to be perfect and can be as biased as you like (we are all human).  If you want to volunteer, just EMAIL US  and we will set you up with a username and password and you can upload your reports right away.

Stato 07/02/2010

Forfar West End are the only team we have still to play and they are now available we'll wait and see, good test after Armadale debacle. You are getting an all weather pitch so why worry about summer football, the performances on the park are more important

Match Report from - BONESS UNITED

06/02/2010 East Region Super League
Bo'ness United 1-2 Kelty Hearts

Bo'ness crashed to their first defeat of the season in this Super League clash at Newtown Park, Bo'ness. Manager McGonigal had a virtually full strength squad to call on and captain Roger Duffin took his place in the team after missing the last game. Bo'ness acually started quite well with Walker looking lively on the right wing. He won a few corners and one from Fleming was met by Duffin who's header crashed off the crossbar. Paul Shields thought his luck was in on 11 minutes as a poor pass-back had him through on goal, but his angled shot went narrowly wide. The opener came on 13 minutes after a neat bit of passing interplay on the left wing. Fleming supplying the cross for the unmarked Kiczynski to head home. At this point Bo'ness looked good to take another 3 points from the visitors who were clearly no mugs having beat Musselburgh in their last match. Walker again going close in the 21st minute, working his way clear through only for the Kelty keeper to make a great save to deny goal number two. The away side broke up the other end of the park and won a corner on the left wing. The set-piece was whipped in and the Kelty number 4 absolutely bulleted his header into the top corner of the net, despite Longmuir getting a hand to it. Non existant marking but a great finish. Kelty were getting on top now, their hard working pressing game meant Bo'ness couldnt settle on the ball and get any momentum going. Also they were getting an extra man over onto the left wing which was causing full-back Snowdon all sorts of problems. Kelty should have went ahead on 26 minutes as they sliced through the Bo'ness defence. A great cut back should have been put away by the forward who put the ball back across the goal only to be denied by the legs of Longmuir. Great save from the goalie! The left back also came close for the visitors from distance as Kelty turned the screw on the league leaders. Bo'ness then went close themselves after a succession of crosses and clearances, the ball was controlled by Shirra who shot narrowly over from 20 yards out. Then came the goal which shook the home side. A free kick was won 35 yards out and as the BU defence were napping, a quick ball was played into the feet of Ross Morrison who turned expertly past the defender and thumped the ball low and unerringly into the far corner of the net. A great goal by the ex Bo'ness man, and how they must regret letting him go earlier on in the season. It nearly got worse for Bo'ness as C Morrison went inches over with a cross-cum-shot on 40 minutes. Fleming came close with a good strong shot from distance but it was again the visitors who could have increased their lead if the left winger had found his unmarked striker with a pass just on half time, keeper Longmuir showing safe hands to snuff out the danger. A deserved lead for Kelty Hearts at half time.

Half time 1-2.

The Bo'ness team came out for the second half knowing improvement was needed and they rose to the challenge. Tame efforts from Shields and Gribben not really testing the away goalie but still things were looking better for the boys in blue. The Bo'ness cause certainly was'nt helped in the 53rd minute as Paul Shields received his marching orders. After being kicked at and elbowed, he retalliated with a shove and the referee could'nt wait to show him the red card. Silly boy, he should know better, a player of his experience. The normally very reliable Snowdon was having a torrid time as Kelty constantly attacked up their left wing and desperate defending managed to clear the danger. Gary Brown replaced Snowdon and promptly set up Walker who broke clear only to shoot wide again. A few yellow cards dished out by the erratic referee was upsetting the home fans considering there was'nt really a bad tackle in the game. Kelty really trying to run the clock down, to be fair they had been doing it since the 2nd minute, so the game was struggling to get any rhythm. A great bit of attacking and defensive play by both teams next as Gary Brown dribbled about 60 yards at pace and played a great looking through ball for Walker but an outstanding slide tackle put the ball out for a corner. The ref again causing anger, booking Kyczynski after a blatant dive by the right winger. The only person in the ground that thought it was a caution was the referee! It did seem at times like we just were not getting any breaks, of the ball or from the referee, and this was typified in the 94th minute as Steven Kyczynski's header hit the top of the crossbar from a Shirra corner.

Full time 1-2.

A thoroughly deserved win for the away team here as they outplayed a poor Bo'ness side. Hopefully this will act as a wake up call the the players maybe need for the Scottish Cup game against Bathgate Thistle next week. Lets face it no team can win every week. And the Bo'ness 'fans' who stayed behind to shout dogs abuse to the referee and call him a cheat should remember that. Although the ref was poor, we were terrible and its not the refs fault we lost.

MOTM Jordan Longmuir (Bo'ness United)

Team. Longmuir, Snowdon(Brown), Kiczynski , Duffin, Fleming, Donnelly(McFadgen), Gribben, Shirra, Hay(Morrison), Shields, Walker.

Match Report from - TAYPORT

Tayport ‘Skipper’ Morris scores winner at Renfrew

06/02/10 Emirates Scottish Junior Cup RD 4 - Renfrew 1 v 2 Tayport

Fitba’ is back! With no competitive game since December 5th 2009, Tayport travelled to Renfrew for the 5 times postponed Emirates Scottish Junior Cup tie.
‘Port got the best possible start to the match when, striker Grant Manzie forced the ball past Renfrew ‘keeper Dean Sexton and despite Sexton’s frantic efforts to get back ‘Port were one up inside two minutes.
Renfrew played some neat stuff after this and kept Tayport at bay for most of the first half. Frazer Fitzpatrick was called on several occasions to make crucial saves mostly from high cross balls.
At the other end on 35 minutes Stuart Ferguson fired a left-footed volley which crashed off the underside of the bar, Grant Manzie was first to react to the rebound but could only steer his header wide.
Renfrew were putting some pressure on the ‘Port rearguard which resulted in several corners towards the end of the half. The crucial corner came when Renfrew’s Gray fired a shot wide without a touch from a Tayport player. Both teams were accepting a goal kick when, the ref awarded a corner to Renfrew. The resulting corner bounced in a ruckus of players and the ref came away with another astonishing decision when he pointed to the spot. Gray sent Fitzpatrick the wrong way and the teams went in level at the break.
‘Port did most of the pressing in the second half and their endeavour was rewarded on 65 minutes. Skipper Roberto Morris took a pass from Barry McNaughton on the edge of the Renfrew box rounded the ‘keeper and slotted home what proved to be the winner.
Lee Bryce then had a goal disallowed for ‘Port while, Frazer Fitzpatrick at the other end, foiled Gray, Clinton Maxwell and Neil Shearer from outside the box. So,’ Port at last advanced to the last sixteen and play Newtongrange Star next Saturday in the Quarter finals of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup.
